Kiplin develops games to encourage and monitor physical activity. Part of its mobile app recently obtained the “medical device” certification from French health authorities and the company based in Atlantic France raised €3.7 million.

Created in Nantes in 2014, Kiplin is an expert in the gamification of sport and fitness. The digital company develops several collaborative mobile games aiming to promote physical activity with a preventive approach to health.

A solution for smart companies and health professionals

Physical inactivity is the cause of many health problems and lowers employee concentration. More and more companies are therefore aiming to encourage sports practice and Kiplin’s connected games have been used by over 250 clients, including major firms such as Google, Hermès, Heineken and EDF, to organise corporate tournaments.

But Kiplin also works for several public health organisations, including the AP-HP which is the public hospital system in the city of Paris. The benefits of its games have been proven to help people suffering from diabetes, obesity and cancer. Overall, Kiplin says its solution has been used by almost 100,000 people.

New funding and a medical device certification

At the end of 2021, Kiplin obtained the “medical device” certification for part of its application from the ANSM (National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products); an important step for the company which is now aiming to obtain reimbursement for its solution, from Health Insurance.

During the same period, the company announced another piece of breakthrough news: the fundraising of €3.7 million thanks to Mutuelles Impact and the public financial institution Caisse des Dépôts.

This fundraising will allow us to accelerate in all areas (games, physical video activity sessions, health quizzes, physical condition assessment tests, etc.). The team is growing and getting stronger. There were 15 employees 1 year ago. There will be 60 of us in a few weeks. […] The team is already working on new games that will be released in the year 2022.
