From the 12th to the 14th of April 2022, the city of Laval, Atlantic France, will be the place to be for immersive technology (VR/AR) professionals. The international event Laval Virtual is the largest European exhibition dedicated to this promising sector.

Laval Virtual is a well-established event: this year its 24th edition will take place in Atlantic France. The top VR/AR event in Europe will host the booths of more than 150 exhibitors within a 2,500 sqm area, but also a programme of inspiring conferences with over 50 international speakers and several innovation competitions.

The first two days (12th-13th of April) are reserved for professionals. A delegation of Atlantic France companies and major international brands will be present, such as Pico, Microsoft, Lenovo, HP, Barco, etc. The event is then open to the general public on the 14th of April, and 5,000 attendees are expected to attend over the three days. Like last year, the Laval Virtual will be a hybrid event being held both offline and online in the Laval Virtual World.

Zooming in on immersive innovations

Laval Virtual organises several competitions to put the spotlight on innovative projects in VR/AR: ReVolution Research (for research labs and academics), ReVolution Start-ups and ReVolution Students (including a 30-hour hackathon in partnership with EDF). The 2022 ReVolution selection includes projects such as immersive applications and simulators for pros, video games, VR content construction tools, a no-code development solution, interactive musical experiences, etc.

The event is also famous for its Awards Ceremony, during which an international jury of experts have to reward the best VR/AR projects from a selection of 22 top innovations from all over the world.

Recto VRso: an international digital art festival

For the 5th time, Laval Virtual will also organise the Recto VRso art festival which will take place from the 12th to the 17th of April in the city of Laval. A chapel will host the Art&VR Gallery, an exhibition of 16 works by international artists, and a free art trail will cross the city.
